Continuous magma mixing and cumulate separation in the High Tatra Mountains open system granitoid intrusion, Western Carpathians (Poland/Slovakia): a textural and geochemical study

In this study the formation of polygenetic High Tatra granitoid magma is discussed. Felsic and mafic mixing mingling processes occurred in all batches composing pluton are documented by typical textural assemblages, which include: microgranular enclaves (MME), clots, felsic quartz-plagioclase-titanite ocelli, biotite-quartz poikilitic plagioclase crystals, chemically zoned K-feldspar phenocrysts with inclusion zones calcic spikes plagioclase. Geochemical modelling indicates predominance component subsequent batches, however, mantle origin admixed input suggested on basis geochemical Rb-Sr, Sm-Nd Pb isotopic data. Magma considered to be a first-order magmatic process, causing diversification. The cumulate squeezing remnant melt filter pressing points fractional crystallization acting as second-order process.
